About Us

Biography - let me share some information about my background

Before transitioning to individual and career counseling, I spent 20 years in the business world working for Fortune 500 companies.  This experience was invaluable as I experienced and witnessed first-hand the stress and anxiety as well as opportunities for personal and professional growth that exist in the workplace.

I managed Operations teams in manufacturing and retailing and also led Human Resources groups in the specialized areas of Executive Recruiting and Employee Relations. During these years, I worked for companies that were acquired, merged and reorganized.  The impact that these organizational upheavals had on me and my co-workers/friends intensified my sensitivity and understanding for others in similar circumstances.

After returning to college and completing two master’s degrees, I combined my business experience with the counseling education/training I received in graduate school and began successfully working with individuals on a variety of personal and career issues. Over the years, I've built a solid reputation with clients, business associates and fellow therapists.

I graduated from Ohio State University and after leaving the business world, enrolled at Georgia State University's graduate school.  I completed the requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and am also a National Certified Counselor. In working with clients, I strive to develop and maintain a collaborative partnership that is focused on identifying the client's goals and working together toward achieving those goals.

Philosophy of Counseling

Each individual has within them a wisdom and an inner knowledge about their best and highest self and from this position they are best equiped to deal with life's challenges and opportunities.

The role of a counselor is to facilitate the client's greater understanding of themselves, their wisdom about values, strengths and how they might move in the direction of achieving their best and highest self.
